Health and Safety

Oceania Marine cultivates a safety conscious workplace culture. Marine projects and shipyards in particular have the potential to be very dangerous places to work or visit. For this reason a rigorous system of health and safety is in place at Oceania Marine. Vessel owner, contractors, suppliers and visitors are asked to note:

  • All casual visitors must sign in at the Administration Office before entering any of Oceania Marine’s worksites, shipyards, work-berths or other places of work (there will be guidance signs with directions). A safety brief and induction will be given if required.
  • Vessel crew and owners representatives will be inducted on arrival by the project manager and safety officer.
  • All contractors or any workman not being an employee of Oceania Marine must register as an Oceania Marine Contractor before they will be permitted on any Oceania Marine worksite. Criteria must be met before registration, one of which is site safety induction.
  • At any of Oceania Marine’s properties or worksites (both indoor and outside) we provide a smoke free environment for staff, crew and visitors. Please do not smoke anywhere except in the designated smoking areas (refer to induction pack for details).
